Chief selector Afridi said in this regard, "After the team's debacle against England, we discussed about the team. Everyone agreed that we need to work on the bowling department. The team must have bowlers who can take 20 wickets. Otherwise the Test cannot be won. So bowling needs to increase strength. With enough players in the bowling, Captain Babar Azam will not have to worry about picking the XI. If there are options at hand Bowlers can be used interchangeably, which is an added advantage. Meanwhile, Dahani, the two pacers called up against New Zealand, have not played any Test before. Although Dahani has experience representing Pakistan in white ball cricket.
